Ukulele Beginners (121)
Canford Cliffs Village Hall - 17 Ravine Road Canford Cliffs, Poole, BH13 7HT

Please see day and time information on the Class Finder page

This class is for one year for complete beginners.
You need a ukulele, music stand, a folder for the songs and the facility to download and print songs each week.
You do not need to read music, but it helps if you can count.
The course covers how to hold and tune the ukulele, strumming patterns and an introduction to picking.
We start with just two chords and gradually add more throughout the year, whilst accompanying a variety of songs.
The ukulele is fun to play, good for multitasking and for exercising ‘the little grey cells’.

Please phone Ann Smith on 700675 for more details of this class.

This class is aimed at players who feel comfortable handling their ukulele and want to get some more experience, mix with people from other groups and develop self-confidence. There is no formal teaching and you do not need to read music. We'll be strumming and singing and, along the way, you're bound to pick up hints and tips from each other. And who knows where this might lead - in 2017, I played with the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. OK, there were a couple of hundred of us, but I shamelessly put it on my CV!

This class invites ukers who are already confident with the most common chords, want to play more than a down-down-down strum rhythm and enjoy singing in a group setting.

We have a go at songs that stretch players a little and add to their skill. Some have chords that have daunting names but which will become familiar with use. Some have an optional picked intro or riff. The more you put in yourself, the more you'll get out. The main aim is to have fun playing together and trading tips. It's a singalong, not a performance.
