Folk Music Group (135)
Please see day, time and location information on the Class Finder page
A one-term, ten-week class to see how it goes. Let’s have a hootenanny! Sense of timing and sense of humour essential.
You bring: a love of singing and/or ability on your folk-appropriate instruments. Examples: fiddle, squeezebox, harmonica, pennywhistle/flute, washboard, guitar, mandolin, banjo/banjolele. If you can play by ear, so much the better.
I’ll email out a weekly pdf with around 10 songs and gaps for individual party pieces by you. The styles we play together may range from traditional English to upbeat Appalachian or skiffle. I aim to provide a simple music sheet for the melody. plus a lyrics and chord sheet and it’s up to you to ad lib from there.
If you’re in doubt, I’m delighted to answer any queries.
