Pickleball (85)
The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre - Station Approach, Broadstone, BH18 8AX

Please see day and time information on the Class Finder page

U3A classes for Pickleball only began in May 2023 but this new activity has already proven very popular, with sessions previously held on Wednesdays and Fridays for two hours at the Merley Community Hall. For those who have never played Pickleball before, it originated in North America and is one of fastest growing new sports, particularly amongst the over 50’s.  It combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. Rules for Pickleball are simple, making it a great introductory sport.

From September, classes will move to the Junction Leisure Centre in Broadstone, and depending on numbers will be held once or twice a week.  We would encourage those who already play short tennis, badminton, or ping-pong to give Pickleball a go.  It is also suitable for anyone who hasn’t played a racquet sport in a while, and wants to get back into this type of activity. We generally play doubles at Pickleball but the game can be played as singles.

Please enrol early to avoid disappointment as numbers are limited.
